West Nile, Fism: "Appreciation for the Ministry of Health's Prevention Department's activities"

Federation of Scientific Societies: "Strategic vision, effectiveness, and timeliness"
The Federation of Italian Medical-Scientific Societies (Fism) wishes to express its appreciation for the work of the Ministry of Health's Department of Prevention, Research and Health Emergencies in the prevention, surveillance, and response to the circulation of West Nile and Usutu viruses during the current vector season. In particular, a statement from Fism states, "we wish to highlight the Department's commitment and strategic vision, which is demonstrating interinstitutional coordination, effective operational planning, and attention to timely interventions. The approach adopted, based on an integrated and multidisciplinary approach, represents a virtuous model of public health and the concrete implementation of the 'One Health' principles."
According to Fism, "the attention paid to the various levels of responsibility—from entomological and veterinary surveillance to raising awareness among the public and healthcare professionals—and the ongoing collaboration with organizations such as the Italian National Institute of Health, CESME, and the Arbovirus Operations Group demonstrate the Prevention Department's excellent ability to translate scientific complexity into clear and shared operational measures." For this reason, the federation reiterates its "willingness to actively collaborate with the Ministry of Health and all relevant institutions to support training, refresher courses, information, and the dissemination of a culture of prevention, fully recognizing that responding to health emergencies requires the synergistic contribution of all components of the healthcare, scientific, and academic systems."
"The Italian Federation of Social Security (FISM)," the statement concludes, "hopes that the authority of healthcare institutions and prevention efforts, which are essential for protecting citizens' health, will not be compromised by political differences. Political debate must always be based on respect for roles and individuals, with the sole purpose of public health."
